The problem this solves
An announcement email goes to everyone and lands with no one. The feature that matters to a logistics company is not the one that matters to a software company, and the stack the reader runs shapes which sentence they care about. Writing three versions instead of one is the cheapest personalization available, and it is rarely done because the segments have to be built from data most lists lack.
The Personalization Agent builds the segments from the list's firmographics, reads what each segment typically runs from technographic data, and writes a version of the announcement per segment that leads with the part relevant to that industry and mentions the tools that segment usually has in place. The three sends are staged in ActiveCampaign, unsent, so the versions can be compared side by side before any of them goes out.
How the mission runs
- Segment the list by industry. The Personalization Agent reads list <name>, fills industry through enrichment where it is missing, and groups the 300 contacts into three segments by industry, merging small industries into the closest larger one and showing the segments with their sizes.
- Read each segment's typical stack. Technographics across each segment's companies reveal the tools that recur - the CRM, the platform, the analytics - and the agent writes a short note per segment of what its members typically run and what the announcement means for that stack.
- Write three versions of the announcement. Starting from your announcement copy, each version reorders and rewrites the opening to lead with the benefit that matters to the segment, references the segment's typical stack where the announcement touches it, and keeps the same call to action, all in your voice.
- Stage the three sends in ActiveCampaign. Three campaigns are created in ActiveCampaign, one per segment, with the contacts loaded and the version attached, all unsent, and a summary shows each segment, its size, its stack note and the opening paragraph of its version.
The prompt
This is the exact objective the agent receives. Swap the obvious placeholders for your own domain, segment or channel and run it as-is from the console, Slack, or the API.
What comes back
Three unsent ActiveCampaign campaigns, one per industry segment of list <name>, each with its contacts loaded and a version of this month's announcement written to lead with that industry's benefit and reference its typical stack, plus a summary with the segments, sizes, stack notes and opening paragraphs. Contacts whose industry could not be resolved are placed in the most general segment and listed.
Make it yours
- Segment by role instead of industry - executives, operators, practitioners - for a different angle on the same announcement.
- Write five segments when the list is larger or the industries more distinct.
- Stage the sends in Klaviyo, Omnisend or HubSpot instead of ActiveCampaign.
- Add a subject line variant per segment for a test within each send.
Frequently asked questions
How different are the three versions?
The opening, the emphasis and the stack references change; the core announcement and the call to action stay the same, so the message is consistent while the relevance is specific.
What if a segment is very small?
Segments below a useful size are merged into their nearest neighbor and the summary says so; you can ask for a minimum size in the prompt.
Can the announcement copy come from a Google Doc?
Yes. Link the Doc and the agent reads it as the source copy for all three versions.
Can the versions be reviewed side by side?
Yes. The summary shows the three openings together, and the full versions can be exported to a Google Doc with the differences highlighted for a quick comparison.
Does it change my call to action?
No. The call to action and any links stay exactly as written; only the framing and the stack references change per segment.
